Mr. Brendan Conner
Brendan Conner is a doctoral candidate in organ performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he has studied with Dr. Christopher Young. Prior to graduate studies at Indiana University, he received a BA in music from UC Berkeley, studying organ and harpsichord with George Emblom and Davitt Moroney. He serves as Senior Organ Scholar at Christ Church Cathedral in Indianapolis, where he accompanies the Cathedral Choir, plays for weekly choral evensong, and assists with the chorister program. Prior to this, he served as the Director of Music at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Indianapolis. In addition to his work as a church musician, he is an active recitalist, having been selected as a semi-finalist for the 2020 National Young Artists Competition in Organ Performance before the competition’s cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Brendan’s academic research focuses on the transmission of historically informed technique in organ education, stemming from the teaching of Anton Heiller.
